Senior Security Engineer

Overall Summary

Manage the daily functions associated with corporate security for global offices. Participate in the planning, design, installation, and maintenance of security systems in support of security policies. Work with Information Technology staff and business units to assess risk and address security issues.

Major Responsibilities

  • Manage security management responsibilities, including firewalls, proxy systems device logging.
  • Create and review reports on event anomalies.
  • Develop and maintain security policies.
  • Raise awareness of security policies.
  • Provide security expertise to the company.
  • Facilitate new electronic data interchanges between other financial firms.
  • Assist in the enforcement and monitoring of Compliance regulations.
  • Investigate and respond to security violations.
  • Analyze business needs, researches and recommends solutions.
  • Establish and manage relations with vendors and computer equipment suppliers.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Experience/Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Eight plus years of progressive responsibility in security design and management. 
  • Expert knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and standards.
  • Experience with network security tools such as Nessus, HFNetCheck, sniffers, TCP Dump and password cracking software.
  • Practical knowledge of data and voice systems. 

Experience/Skills Preferred:

  • Project Management certification
  • Familiarity with SEC regulations as they pertain to the financial industry
  • Global solutions provider
  • Juniper and Checkpoint security devices

Senior Desktop Engineer

Overall Summary

Senior Desktop Engineer is responsible for setting the technical direction for the strategy and systems involved in desktop and laptop software delivery to global offices. Responsibilities also include leading projects of various size and complexity in the design, selection, and implementation of technology architecture to satisfy departmental and business objectives.

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in designing operating systems and applications to desktops and laptops.
  • Manage the acquisition, installation, and administration and maintenance of the organization's systems and tools related to desktop and laptop deployment.
  • Provide training and daily support of Desktop Support Technicians on the use of the software deployment systems.
  • Plan and coordinate the deployment of hardware and software upgrades and routine maintenance updates with other IT staff and business units.
  • Work with security team to identify necessary software updates, package the updates and manage the deployment to the various offices.
  • Establish and manage relations with vendors.
  • Drive projects of various scale and complexity and manage resources.
  • Assist in the formulation of project objectives, plans, and systems standards.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers.
  • Define and enhance operational processes and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Experience/Skills Required

  • Eight years experience working with desktop asset management, software packaging tools and software deployment software.
  • Full understanding of Active Directory 2003, thin client hardware and software.
  • Full understanding of DNS, WINS, TCP/IP, and DHCP
  • Full understanding of LAN protocols.
  • Full understanding of Microsoft Office deployment options.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to quality service to end-users.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills.

Experience/Skills Preferred

  • Project Management certification
  • VMWare ESX platform administration
  • Windows scripting
  • Financial service industry experience
  • Global solutions provider
  • Citrix Presentation Server
  • Microsoft SMS, Altiris or LANDesk
